Georgia is one of 16 states that denies the right to vote for people convicted of a felony while they are incarcerated, on parole or on probation. In 2018, over 266,000 Georgians could not vote due to felony disenfranchisement. Despite representing only 32% of the state's population in 2018, 58% of the disenfranchised Georgians were black. in 2018, Georgia had the 6th largest population of disenfranchised black voters. Georgia has the largest correctional supervision population in the nation, over 400,000. Yes, that's even worse than Texas! Georgia has the 10th highest rate of disenfranchisement.
